EP & album development
Tayte Nickols works with independent artists and bands to turn a collection of songs into a cohesive EP or album. Project development connects the writing, sound, recording and sequence across the whole release.
Find the record in your demos
We start by listening across the material: what feels strongest, what connects the songs and what is missing. You can arrive with early ideas, a set of demos or a project already taking shape.
Song selection is part of the creative work. A strong standalone track may need a different arrangement to fit the project; another idea may become the thread that brings everything together.
Build a shared sound
Production, instrumentation, vocal treatment and recording choices give the songs a common identity. Contrast still matters: an intimate track and a bigger arrangement can belong on the same record when they support its emotional arc.
Plan the sessions around the music
Once the direction is clearer, we discuss the number of songs, writing and recording needs, setting, budget and timeline. The scope and deliverables are agreed around the project.
Sessions can take place at Mad Fox London in Hampstead. Residential work at Willow Lake Studios in the Lake District offers time and space for projects that benefit from a longer, immersive process.
Choose the right starting point
For one song, explore music production. For a longer creative partnership around your songs, sound and direction, explore artist development. EP and album development brings those decisions together across a specific body of work.
